ROWE ATF CLEANER is a specialist flushing additive designed to clean automatic transmissions before an oil service. Added to the old ATF before draining, it helps dissolve and suspend sludge, varnish and wear residues that accumulate inside the gearbox and valve body. The result is a cleaner system that lets fresh transmission fluid perform at its best.

Purpose and specifications

This cleaner is intended for conventional automatic transmissions and torque-converter units prior to an ATF change. It is a flush concentrate that works with the existing fluid to loosen deposits, so the transmission is properly prepared before the new oil and, where applicable, a new filter are fitted. It is an additive only and is not a substitute for the transmission fluid itself.

When to use / change?

Use it at every major ATF service or whenever a transmission shows sluggish or harsh shifting linked to internal contamination. Add to the warm transmission, run as directed for a short cycle, then drain the old fluid completely and refill with the correct fresh ATF. It is consumed during the flush and not left in the system. Unopened and stored cool and dry, the shelf life is approximately 5 years.

Do I leave the cleaner in the transmission?
