ROWE HIGHTEC GREASEGUARD MoS2 is a high-quality, mineral oil-based multi-purpose grease enriched with molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) as a solid lubricant, plus corrosion and oxidation inhibitors. The MoS2 component forms a tenacious dry-film layer that provides exceptional emergency running properties when the oil film is momentarily squeezed out. Lithium-saponified, it is built for bearings exposed to shock and alternating loads.
Purpose and specifications
This grease is recommended for slide bearings and roller bearings subject to high alternating strain, as well as heavily loaded chassis and machinery points. It is classified to DIN 51 502 and the consistency and performance designation DIN 51 825: KPF 2 K-30, an NLGI grade 2 grease with solid lubricant and extreme pressure protection rated to -30 C.
- 0.400kg container suited to chassis, joints and bearings under shock load
- Reliable lubrication across an application range of -30 C to +130 C
- Molybdenum disulphide film delivers excellent emergency running and reduced wear under heavy strain
- Corrosion and oxidation inhibitors that protect metal surfaces against rust and ageing
When to use / change?
Choose this grease for high-load slide and roller bearings, universal joints and points subject to vibration or alternating stress. Re-lubrication intervals depend on the application, load and temperature; follow the maintenance schedule and re-grease before the film is exhausted. It performs reliably between -30 C and +130 C. Unopened and stored cool and dry, the shelf life is approximately 5 years.
Frequently asked questions
What does the MoS2 additive do?
Molybdenum disulphide is a solid lubricant that bonds to metal and keeps surfaces sliding even if the grease film is momentarily lost, ideal for shock loads.
Where should I not use it?
Avoid high-speed precision bearings where the dark solid lubricant could interfere; it is best for heavily loaded, slow to medium speed points.
Why is the grease dark grey?
The anthracite colour comes from the molybdenum disulphide solid lubricant; it is normal and indicates the protective additive content.
